Q: What is the easiest way to get from Pudong Airport to Puxi in the centre of Shanghai? - Ronnie Ellis.
A: The high-profile Maglev (magnetic levitation) train goes from the airport to Longyang Road Metro Station, a distance of 30 kilometres, in only eight minutes. However, as the station is in the suburbs, you need to take the subway to the city centre, which takes another 25 minutes. The Maglev train runs from 7am-9.40pm every 15-20 minutes. A one-way journey will cost 50 yuan, which is about R60. A taxi from Pudong Airport to Puxi takes about an hour and costs 150 yuan (about R180). (10 May 2009)
