Budget Choices at CDG

Q: We have an overnight stopover at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris in September. We hoped to stay in a hotel within the transit area, but understand there isn't one at Terminal 2 used by Air France. As we will have visas, we can leave the terminal, but I would like to find a hotel as close to the terminal as possible, as we have had a few bad experiences with hotel-airport shuttle services in the past. A hotel with a walkway into the terminal would our best choice. - Gerald Labuschagne

A: Your best choice would be the Sheraton Paris Airport Hotel, which is located in Terminal 2, so transport to the airport would not be an issue. Book on the www.starwoodhotels.com website. If you cannot get a reservation there, then the next closest hotel would be the Holiday Inn Paris CDG Hotel. It is only a few minutes from the terminal, but you would need to use a shuttle service. Good budget choices close to the airport are the Ibis Paris Charles de Gaulle Aeroport Hotel and the Express by Holiday Inn CDG. (5 July 2009)
