London to Paris: train or plane?

Q: Is it cheaper to fly with a budget airline or travel by Eurostar between London and Paris?

A: It seems there is very little difference, so it comes down to a matter of choice. Using the same dates in June, I made bookings on Eurostar and the budget airline easyJet. The cheapest Eurostar ticket was 59 British Pounds return, while a ticket on easyJet from Luton Airport, London, to Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, came to 51 British pounds. The air trip is 90 minutes shorter than the train trip, but transfer times to and from the airports easily accounts for that.
