Children in New York

QUESTION: I will be in New York for three days with my family. Can you suggest things for the children to do? - Amy Birkholtz

ANSWER: Besides the Statue of Liberty, the Statten Island ferry and the Empire State building, there are plenty of things to keep children amused. There's the excellent New York Aquarium, the Bronz Zoo and the real-life wonderworld that is Central Park. Youngsters will be fascinated by the Children's Museum of Manhatten and the Sony Wonder Lab, a technology and entertainment museum which is free. If you're out shopping, stop in at F.A.O. Schwarz, a huge toy shop on Fifth Avenue. And for a treat, visit Dylan's Candy Bar, across the road from Bloomingdale's, and, nearby, a fabulous ice cream parlour and restaurant, Serendipity.
