Youth hostel in London

QUESTION: Can you recommend a good youth hostel in Central London. Ideally, I can afford to pay around 20 pounds per night. - Simon Le Roux.

ANSWER: I have not stayed in a youth hostel in London, but have heard many horror tales. However, one that has attracted great reviews (and featured in the international Conde Nast magazine) is St Pauls Youth Hostel. The hostel was formerly the Choir Boys School for St. Paul's Cathedral, the hostel is perfectly located close to the river, next to the city's financial hub and within easy reach of the West End. The rates start at around GBP 18 per night. If you are not a member of the Youth Hostel Association or Hostelling International, you will have to pay a supplement of GBP 3 per night.
