Using return voucher of air ticket

QUESTION: I bought a return air ticket, but only want to use the return half of the ticket. Is this possible? - Ian Grootman

ANSWER: Airlines generally insist that all flight coupons are used in the correct sequence and will cancel the return segment if the initial flight is not used. This is particularly important on international flights, where you have multiple destinations. A possible exception is where each leg was booked and priced separately - you may be able to use your return coupon only. However, whatever the conditions attached to your ticket, you can always explain your situation
to someone at the airline's head office or booking centre and you may get lucky.
