ANSWER: Laos is a growing tourist destination and the main centres are very safe to visit. The best way to get there would be to fly to Bangkok and on to Vientiane with Thai Airways. If you prefer to fly directly to Luang Prabang, there are scheduled daily flights from Bangkok on Bangkok Airways. It is best to fly between Vientiane and Luang Prabang, as ground transportation can be tiring and uncomfortable.
