Hotel near Lisbon Airport

QUESTION: My wife gets the heebi-jeebis the day we travel – she is petrified that we will be late for our flight as a result of a traffic jam or other problems. To help her, and me, is there a fairly inexpensive hotel on or near the Lisbon airport as our flight departs at 7am on January 14. - Stefaans Olivier

ANSWER: I could not find a hotel at the terminal, but the Lisbon city centre hotels are not far from the airport. The closest hotel I could find was the three-star Hotel Tivoli Tejo, which is only two kilometres away. A room should cost you about 100 Euros. For good value, you could try the three-star Roma Hotel, which is four kilometres from the airport. A room here should cost you about 65 Euros. The Holiday Inn Lisbon is three kilometres from the airport and the rate is around 120 Euros a night.
