QUESTION: We would like to stay at the game reserve near to Port St Johns, which we first visited years back. Can you give me information on the reserve and booking details, please? - Rod James
ANSWER: The Silaka Nature Reserve is situation 6 kms south of Port St Johns. This small coastal reserve lies in a forested valley and is home to small game, exotic bird life and forest fauna. You can either stay in a game lodge or self-catering, two-bedroomed thatched chalets. You need to book well in advance, especially over holiday periods. For accommodation in the game lodge telephone 047-531 2711. For the self-catering rondawels, contact East Cape Tourism on telephone 043 -742 4450. You can also email the booking office (reservations@ecparksboard.co.za). For further information, you can contact the Wild Coast Tourism Initiative on telephone 043-722 2203.
