A: The availability of accommodation on Koh Phangan has always been dependent on the famous full moon parties held there. With thousands of travellers arriving on the island for these parties, accommodation for a day or two on either side of the parties is at a premium. In December this is exacerbated by the end-of-year holiday season and the fact that there are three major "full moon" parties during December. They are on Saturday December 10, Sunday December 25 and Saturday December 31. Therefore, it would be very difficult to find rooms on Haad Rin beach, where the parties are held. There may be some rooms on other parts of the island.
