Jumbo Hotel in Stockholm

Q: We are travelling in Europe with our young son over the Christmas holidays and will visit Stockholm in January. I have heard of jumbo jet transformed into a hotel at Stockholm Airport which could be fun for our son. Could you give me more information on this? - Roddy Ellington

A: Jumbo Stay Stockholm is housed in a former Boeing 747 jet and located right next to Stockholm's Arlanda Airport. Accommodation ranges from beds in dormitory rooms to a luxury honeymoon suite in the former cockpit. Some rooms have access to an observation deck on the left wing. Of course, space is limited "on board", but rooms are fitted with flat-screen TV's and free wi-fi. Breakfast is served in the hotel and snacks and ready-made meals are on sale. There is a free shuttle bus service to the terminal. Rates range from 65 US dollars for a bed in a dormitory, while a triple room with a shared bathroom would cost you around 130 US dollars per night, including breakfast and taxes. These rates are available from www.booking.com. Check out the hotel on the www.jumbostay.com website. (5/12/10)
