Hotel near Eurostar Terminal

Q: I need to stay near the Gare Du Nord, the station which is the terminus for the Eurostar train in Paris. Can you recommend a good three-star close enough to walk to the terminal in the morning. – Alan Joubert

A: There are some good three-star hotels very close to the Gare Du Nord, so you should not have a problem finding a room if you book earlier enough. They may not be the cheapest hotels in Paris, but they can't be beaten for convenience. My first choice is the Mercure Paris Terminus Nord, which is located right next to the Gare du Nord train and metro station. It offers modern rooms with air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and a buffet breakfast. Room rates start from around 100 Euros per night, but can cost as much as 250 Euros in busy periods. My next option is the Hotel Gare Du Nord, which is also opposite the train staion. The sound-proofed guest rooms have free wi-fi internet and tea and cofee making facilities. Rates range from 100 Euros. Finally, there is the New Hôtel Gare Du Nord, which is located in a typically Parisian building in the Haussman style. Room cost as little as 84 Euros if you book early.
