Hong Kong Airport Hotel with a Pool

Q: I have a lengthy stopover at Hong Kong Airport on May 17 on a return trip to South Africa from China. I do not want to go into the city, so what hotel options are there in or near the airport for an overnight stay? I would prefer a hotel with a swimming pool. – Simon Mann-Jones

A: There are three hotels at Hong Kong International Airport which offer excellent accommodation close to the terminals. The most convenient is the Regal Airport Hotel, which adjoins the terminal buildings. I checked the hotel website, www.regalhotels.com, for your requested date and the best rate I could find was 1572 Hong Kong dollars (R1,380) per night. The Novotel Hong Kong Citygate, which is located only five minutes away from the airport, is offering rooms for 155 US dollars (R1050) per night (www.accorhotels.com). The newest airport hotel, the luxurious Marriott Sky City Hong, overlooks the runways and the sea. In May it has rooms for 1,111 Hong Kong Dollars (R970) per night (www.marriott.com). All three hotels have swimming pools and a variety of restaurant options. They also have shuttle bus services to the airport for hotel guests. (24/4/11)
