A: As with Dubai, alcohol is available in licensed hotel bars and a few restaurants, especially those frequented by foreigners. You can also buy two litres of alcohol at the airport duty-free shops in the arrivals hall, but no drinking is allowed in public. Alcohol is not freely available in shops; residents have to get special licenses to buy alcohol which is sold at special stores in Muscat. (13/2/11)
