Beatles Museum

Q: While we are in London in October, we would like to visit the Beatles Museum in Liverpool. We would also like to take any tour that shows us their birthplaces, etc. Is there a tour company that offers tours to Liverpool or one in Liverpool that we could make contact with and make our own travel arrangements? We would prefer not to have to stay over in Liverpool. - Lilian Jones

A: London Tour Guides offers an unescorted tour of Liverpool and sites relating to the Beatles. The tour includes tickets to the Beatles Story exhibition, a ticket for the Beatles Magic Mystery Tour and the opportunity to see some of the landmark buildings that featured in the band's early days. You will pass their homes, schools, birthplaces, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field and many other interesting places. You can also spend time at the Cavern Pub and Club, where the band first performed. The tour runs from Monday to Friday and costs 99 British pounds, which includes train tickets from London. For further information and details on how to book, you can visit the www.londontourguides.com website. (9 Aug 2009)
