Cheap hotel in Singapore

Q: I need to stay in Singapore for two nights and am looking for an affordable hotel. All the hotels I have been able to find cost over US$100. I will be travelling alone and really only need a bed to sleep in. Are there are any really cheap hotels in the city? - Bert Armstrong
A: The Fragrance Hotel chain in Singapore offers rooms in a number of hotels from around 80 Singapore dollars (US$60). The hotels are located throughout the city, with some newer ones offering the best facilities. My choice would be the Fragrance Hotel-Waterfront on Pasir Panjang Road, which only opened in April this year. However, all the group's hotel rooms are clean and safe and offer a great option for travellers who don't want to spend too much on accommodation. Check out their website (www.fragrancehotel.com).
