Luggage restrictions

QUESTION: I understand that there is a new hand luggage policy at SA airports. What are the implications for us?- Dave McGregor

ANSWER: The new restrictions, the same as those in the UK and USA, came into force for all international airline passengers at SA airports on April 2, 2007. Basically, you are now only allowed ONE item of hand baggage with a maximum size of 56cm tall, 45cm wide and 25cm deep. Other bags, such as handbags and laptops, must be carried within this single item of cabin baggage. All liquids must be placed in one transparent re-sealable bag, no larger than 20cmx20cm. All duty-free shopping purchased after the security check can be taken onboard.
