Best seat for long legs

QUESTION: I am very tall and struggle to sit in an economy aircraft seat, but cannot afford to upgrade to business class on international flights. I am due to fly to London with SAA and would like to find out which seats I should aim for. Can you help? - Graham Whittaker

ANSWER: If you used a travel agent to buy the ticket, they should be able to look up which aircraft is being used for the flight and pre-book one of the 'exit row' seats, which have the most legroom. If you bought the ticket directly from SAA, visit one of their city offices with the same request. Although many passengers make the same demand, if you are visibly taller than average you should have a better chance of getting one of these prized seats. For a general idea of which seats are best on various aircraft, have a look at the www.seatguru.com website.
